Africa has special significance for those who care about
children and 2008 marks the first time that the ISPN will be
meeting in
Sub-Saharan Africa.
South Africa has undergone a truly remarkable transformation
over the past decade and is now unquestionably one of the
world’s favourite destinations. Attractions range from the
wonders of nature, such as our many game reserves and beautiful
coastlines, to sites rich with history, from the earliest human
origins through to modern icons such as Mahatma Gandhi and
Nelson Mandela.
Cape Town is one of the world’s most beautiful cities, nestled
between Table Mountain and the sea. These meet at the famous V&A
Waterfront, which will be the venue for this, The 36th Meeting
of the ISPN.
We are confident that a stimulating scientific programme,
complemented by the many attractions our country has to offer,
will make for an unforgettable visit. We look forward to
welcoming you to Cape Town, described by one of the greatest
adventurers, Sir Francis Drake, as “the fairest Cape in all
the world”.
