Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden

Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden is world-renowned for the beauty and diversity of the Cape flora it displays and for the magnificence of its setting against the Eastern slopes of Table Mountain. The beautiful gardens cover an area of 528 hectares with 36 hectares of cultivated garden, and are a celebration of South African flora - showcasing over 22 000 indigenous South African plants. The special vegetation of the region is called ‘fynbos’ and includes the Protea, South Africa’s national flower. Rolling lawns are intermingled with streams and ponds and well-laid out pathways for easy walking.
